Fashion Show Mix-n-Match with Corinne’s Outfits

It’s really cold and dreary here today, so Omera and I have decided to put on a Fashion Show for you. No invitation necessary! The more the merrier, so come on in . . .

Before the show starts, I’d like to introduce our primary model and Islandshire’s newest arrival, Omera. She’s joined her brother, Fletcher (Elizabeth’s customized TM #75), and together they are very keen container gardeners. In fact, Omera likes flowers and frogs in a big way! Her name was inspired by the lovely young widow in The Mandalorian (Season 1, Episode 4), and she’s wearing an AG GOTY Saige wig. Now, on with the show!

Our models for tonight are the new Corinne doll (AG’s Girl of the Year for 2022) and Islandshire friends. Since we came home from the AG store with both a Ski Outfit and Casual Outfit to share around, I thought it’d be fun to mix pieces from those sets with her Meet outfit and see what we came up with. All in all, these are some cute clothes. And you know me well enough by now to know that I don’t like anything to stay the way it came from the store!

First, a few photos and comments on Corinne’s Meet sweater. I’d previously posted about this being thin and needing some kind of shirt underneath. After playing around with what’s in our closet, I think we’ve got some good options for you here. And Harold has graciously agreed to model for you. (Actually, he only agreed to do this “girly stuff” because he likes the sweater so much. That and my promise that we’d get him one of his own and let him read his 10 Wonderful Reasons to Love Wool. He insisted on leaving the dog tags on, so that you’d know he’s a BOY!)

The first photo shows Harold wearing the white tank top from the 1998 American Girl of Today Play Outfit. While this solves the “see through” look on the torso, the tank isn’t quite long enough to cover the length of the sweater and hide the color of his jeans. Realistic look, if it’s all you have, and not too bad.

In this next photo, I’ve used the off-white, long-sleeve t-shirt from the 2010 Cozy Plaid Outfit under the sweater. It fits perfectly and definitely looks better. The sweater is only slightly longer than this shirt, and it’s not too noticeable, since the sweater bunches a bit down there.

In case those two shirts aren’t an option for you, I did have a plain white long-sleeve t-shirt from an OG set (not sure which), and it also worked perfectly. Here’s Omera showing you how it looks under her own Meet sweater (Harold was tired of trying on girl’s clothes).

Before Omera changes, we thought you’d like to see how her Meet sweater is when paired with the patterned jeans from Z’s Easy Breezy outfit and Courtney’s hightops.

So, what happens when it’s cold outside and your girlie has a long walk home? Even when she’s wearing the long-sleeve OG shirt under the Meet sweater, Omera can still wear her new jacket from Corinne’s Ski Outfit. The jacket did not zip closed with two layers under it, but we think it looks really cute like this, too! Gives her an air of casual confidence.

While Omera changes, Silver models her favorite mix-n-match layering option for you. If the weather forecast seems iffy, your girl might want to layer for the day by pairing Corinne’s new Ski Outfit with the Colorado t-shirt from the new Casual Outfit. Add the matching boots from Corinne’s Meet outfit, and you’ve got a pretty cute look! Pictures in the following slideshow show the outfit without the jacket, with the jacket hanging open, zipped up and with its hood up. (Note: the hood did fit over Silver’s short and straight hair, but I don’t think it would fit with any long hair or style.)

Omera’s back with still another stunning mix-n-match from the rack that is sure to please every girl who doesn’t know how her day will play out. Just look at that Casual Outfit Colorado t-shirt under the Ski Suit jacket with the Easy Breezy jeans and Courtney’s hightops. This looks cute when paired with another doll wearing the Meet sweater and his favorite blue jeans, too! (Okay, so Harold always looks cute. I know.)

The stores are usually too warm for outerwear, so our girl has checked the jacket (in her wardrobe bag) in a locker and changed to her walking shoes. These Truly Me Teal Sneakers (2018-2021) are just the thing for all those laps around the mall.

A girl is prepared for everything an outing offers, with this quick-change outfit that fits in one bag. Swap the jeans for these classic denim shorts (these are AFW, but any denim shorts will work), and you’re ready for a bit of a work-out in the mall gym.

Where did the day go? Time to think about a bite to eat in our girl’s favorite sit-down restaurant. (No fast food for this sharp gal!) For fun, Omera chose to pair the Casual Outfit Colorado t-shirt and silver boots with the purple leggings from Corinne’s Meet outfit. It’s a look that screams comfort and WOW in one breath!

Our girl never minds when her friend accidentally spills the iced tea all over the table, because she’s always ready for every “event” with her one-bag wardrobe. Omera does a quick switch to her favorite School of Fish t-shirt from the Spring 2018 Mix-n-Match set and Corinne’s Meet boots, and she’s fresh as a daisy again. Couldn’t get a better color match if you planned it that way!

Brrrr! If a girl has to leave the mall and go out into that cold weather, she needs something fashionable but still warm. And nothing says that like faux fur. Let’s try the jacket from Corinne’s Casual Outfit this time. Easy on-and-off, it teams with the previous outfit to form a look that will get this girl into any affair.

Oh, no! Omera hasn’t got time to go home and change before she’s due at the theatre, so she reaches into her bag and pulls out the last piece of her new ensemble. The addition of this Ombre Waves Skirt (also from the Spring 2018 Mix-n-Match) makes an ensemble that’s sure to turn heads. And she’s ready for any temperature with all those layers!

Hope you enjoyed our fashion show. The curtain’s about to go up, and Omera doesn’t want to miss a minute of the play. Let’s leave her to the evening’s fun and go to your house for some mix-n-match fun with what we find in your closets! Watch out, though, fashion can become an addictive hobby. (In fact, I only stopped here because it got too dark to take more photos.)

As a parting shot, here’s a nice one . . . just because she’s so cute!

Nanea wants you to know that fashion is not fun without accessories. She doesn’t want you to think that Omera is a Philistine, so I’m supposed to explain that her new friend hasn’t been on Islandshire long enough to accessorize her wardrobe. Perhaps we’ll let Nanea have a “fashion accessory show” before too long.

Thanks for coming. And don’t ever give up looking for what adds up those happiness points in your own life. How about a fashion show of your own? And don’t forget to share your photos.
